I started my private practice in mid-Cambridgeshire 13 years ago, and have worked with clients aged 3-84; individuals, couples and families. I currently work mainly with mid-to- late teens and adults, but have worked with schools, a child development team, the YMCA, an adoption support agency, workplace counselling and a Women’s Centre.
Clay is an integral part of the combination of the “talking therapy” and creative arts therapy offered in my studio and online, and I often wonder at the sometimes almost magical way emotions and memories emerge through its use; profound insights inaccessible by talking alone. Clay is also great fun to play with, and that’s fine too! It has been a privilege to make my clay therapy journey under the regular guidance of its founder, Lynne Souter-Anderson, most recently at the Specialist Clay Supervisors’ course. I look forward to offering supervision in person and online to colleagues in the growing Clay Community.
My previous career as a Specialist Support Teacher with young children with additional needs and their families sparked my belief in the power of play and creativity, and originally prompted my training as a counsellor to support parents facing challenges. I have a particular interest and experience in working with people of any age with autism and ADHD, and their families.
