I am an Accredited Play Therapist and Clinical Supervisor (PTUK). My play therapy journey began in 2006 and I completed my MA in 2012. For my research I looked at whether using clay therapeutically would help girls with generalised anxiety disorder. This was my first piece of research and I loved it. I found the whole process fascinating and so powerful. The changes that I could see with the clients I was working with showed how powerful and effective working with clay could be. Since then my clay journey has continued. I did my clay training in 2015, which was an amazing, highly emotive experience and I work with clay regularly with my clients. I work with a variety of clients in a number of different environments. It is a privilege to do this work, I learn so much from each piece of work.
I am self-employed and work in local schools, carry out clinical supervision, run training courses, including some for APAC. I work with varying levels of need, largely in disadvantaged areas. I am a trustee of a local children’s charity. I am also a member of the Association of Sandplay Therapists.
